Nike WHQ: Ken Griffey Jr.

Situated at Nike’s World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, the 96,000-square-foot Ken Griffey Jr. building renovation celebrates the career and enduring legacy of one of baseball’s most iconic players. The branding and environmental graphics were developed as an immersive storytelling experience, tracing Griffey’s journey through defining moments on and off the field. The narrative highlights his historic achievement of becoming the first player to wear Jackie Robinson’s No. 42 on the anniversary of Robinson’s major league debut in 1997, helping inspire the annual league-wide tribute, as well as the unforgettable moment in 1990 when he and his father, Ken Griffey Sr., hit back-to-back home runs as teammates on the Seattle Mariners. Woven throughout the building, these stories connect Griffey’s personal history and accomplishments with Nike’s culture of sport, creating a workplace that honors both his impact on baseball and the legacy he continues to inspire.
